Traveled: Gyeongbokgung Palace

One of our first destinations in Seoul was Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was built during the Joseon Dynasty.  You can read more about the history of the palace and its surrounding area here.  These are some of my favorite photos from in and around Gyeongbokgung.

  1. The pops of red from the uniforms look great against that neutral palette.

  2. Incredible. Are those vases made of candy?

    1. Yes! Well, back in the day they were made out of real candy or rice cakes. The vases in the photo are made from plastic. Apparently, the king used to sit behind this table whenever the palace threw a party. The table would hold an unbelievable amount of food, including the edible vases!
